History of Britech New England

Jaye Straight and his family have a long history with vintage motorcycles and in the industry.

Along with his wife, they have been riding vintage bikes since they were kids.  They founded the British Iron Association in the late 70’s and Triumphday in the early 80’s.

Jaye began his career restoring vintage bikes as a kid and became rose to the top of this industry, even before there was one.

His restored bikes are known throughout the world  as among the best. He began building vintage racing bikes in the late 1980’s and fielded his first Rickman Triumph 750cc in 1991.

Jaye began winning races in 1992. He won the first of countless championships in 1996 and dominated the field until 2009. He has won at all the major events including Daytona 26 times, MidOhio, Barber, Loudon NH – to name a few.

He developed and manufactured for the retail market a range of Racing Components and a formula to building racing and hot street bikes which were then made available to everyone through his “SuperTwins” brand.

He has enjoyed great racing success and helped many others around the world win as well. They developed a re-manufactured  a High performance Vintage Triumph called Britech SuperTwin. They built and sold more than a hundred of these bikes in a 15 year period.

Servicing Museums and private collectors nationwide is something that he appreciates doing and loves.

It was their restored Vintage Triumph’s nearly 40 they built under contract to Benny T Bootle as the president of the AACA. This established Motorcycle Judging as part of the Antique Automobile Club of Americas’ annual schedule – revolutionizing the way motorcycles were viewed by the mass market. It also allowed collectors of vintage motorcycles to be included in a well established National Show judging concourse, previously only open to collectors and restorers of automobiles.
